আসল জীবনের স্বাদ
সকালে খুব ভোরে গোসল করে নাস্তা করে বের হলাম মানুষের দৈনন্দিন ব্যস্ততা ও দিনের প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য  উপভোগ করার উদ্দেশ্যে। কতদিন সকালের সুর্য আর তার রোদের সাথে দেখা হয় না। সকালের সোনালী রোদ আর কর্মমুখী মানুষের কর্মস্থলে যাওয়ার ব্যস্ততা সব কিছু নতুন লাগছে। চলে গেলাম বস্তির দিকে যেখানে গেলে  একটু গ্রামের স্বাদ পাওয়া যায়। শহরের এই অভাবী লোকদের জীবন যাত্রা এতটা সাধারণ, তারপরও তারা নিজেদের অবস্থা নিয়ে পুরোপুরি সন্তুষ্ট, তাদের ঠান্ডা কথা বার্তা, সাধারণ খাবার পরিতৃপ্তি নিয়ে খাওয়া এসব দেখলে বোঝা যায় জীবনের এ দারিদ্রতার জন্য তাদের কোন অভিযোগ নেই। হাটতে হাটতে একদম নদীর ধারে চলে এসেছি। হাতে চিড়ে আর গুড় দিয়ে বানান মোয়ার প্যাকেট থেকে একটারর পর একটা সাবাড় করে যাচ্ছি। নদী এখন পানিতে টুইটুম্বুর। অনবরত একটার পর একটা মালবাহী ষ্টীমার আসছে যাচ্ছে। ছোট ছোট নোকায় মানুষ পারাপার করছে। নদীর ধারে বসে যখন এই দৃশ্য দেখতে শুরু করলাম হৃদয়টা প্রশান্তিতে ভরে গেল। নদীকে কেন্দ্র করে গড়ে ওঠা মানুষের জীবনযাত্রা আমার কাছে একেবারেই অপরিচিত।  আমাদের গ্রামে খুব কাছে একটা নদী থাকলেও সেটা আসলে অনেক ছোট। সেই নদীও  বছরে দু একেবারের বেশি যাওয়া হয়নি। আজ এ মুহুর্তে নদীর বিশাল এ বুক আর তার ওপারের সাদা কাশবনের এ মাঠ দেখে প্রিয়জনদের কথা মনে পড়ে যাচ্ছে, মনে পড়ে যাচ্ছে ফেলে আসা জীবনের মুল্যবান শৈশবের কথা। কতনা দুরত্বে বসে আছি একলা আমার প্রিয়জনদের ছেড়ে,  অসস্পস্ট আর ঝাপ্সা হয়ে আসছে আমার পেছনের দিনগুলি। নদীর পাড়কে কেন্দ্র করে গড়ে ওঠা এ বসতির মানুষগুলোকে দেখলে অনেক হিংসা হয়। এত পরিশ্রম প্রতিদিনের দুবেলা খাবারের যোগান দিতে। কিন্তু প্রকৃতির খুব কাছ থেকে তারা জীবনকে উপভোগ করছে। আস্তে আস্তে রোদ বাড়তে থাকল আর আমি পা বাড়ালাম বাসার দিকে। এদিকে লিখতে লিখতে ব্যাটারীর চার্জ ও শেষ হয়ে গেল। রাতে চাকরি করার কারণে দিনের বেলা বিকেলের দিকে বা সন্ধ্যায় একটু বাইরে হাটলে  মন হয় যেন বাপের হোটেলে খাচ্ছি রাস্তায় রাস্তায় ঘুরছি। সপ্তাহের ছুটির এ দিন দুটি কাটিয়ে মনে হচ্ছে আমি বুঝি বসে বসে খাচ্ছি আর ঢাকা শহরে আরামে ঘুরে বেড়াচ্ছি। কিন্তু যে পাঁচদিন কাজ করি মনে হয় কত না যান্ত্রিক এ জীবনটা চাইলেও যার ভেতর থেকে বের হয়ে  আসা যায় না। শহরের স্বার্থপর মাণূষ গুলো শুধু সুখের পেছনে ছুটছে। আমার প্রিয় (নচিকেতা'র চুক্রবর্তী) নচিদা'র শহর নিয়ে একটা গানের কথা দিয়ে শেষ করছি

এই মিথ্যে কথার মেকী শহরের সীমানা ছাড়িয়ে
